Grace Kuria, a British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) journalist, is no longer single after marrying her ex-colleague and fiancé in a traditional ruracio ceremony.
Kuria confirmed the event, which took place in Murang'a County on Saturday, December 11 in private, to Viral Magazine.
She married Joseph Kanja, a former colleague whom she met while working at K24, where she was in charge of the cameras while Kanja worked as a senior graphic designer.
Their relationship formally began three years ago, after they met five years prior.
A video obtained by Viral Magazine showed the couple and invited guests dancing to the renowned Firirinda song at a traditional wedding.
Kuria uploaded images of her and Kanja having fun together under the cover of night, highlighted by the camera spotlights, the next morning.
"And we're only standing here because You made a way," she said on all of her social media accounts.
Kanja wore a plain white shirt and brown khaki pants, while she wore a spectacular brown kitenge dress with a combination of blue and brown traditional print. Kuria's top had the same traditional designs.
Many netizens took to social media to congratulate her on her new accomplishment.
Kuria declared on social media on September 20 that she left CGTN for BBC a lot better person than she was months earlier, with more knowledge in digital media. She quit KTN less than a year after joining the Chinese media company.
"Some personal information!" I'm leaving CGTN Africa today a better person than I was a few months ago, with a better understanding of digital media. I will be eternally grateful for the opportunity.
"I'm looking forward to the next stage of my career." "All glory to God," she added, leaving her supporters guessing about her next move.
In February 2021, roughly a month after resigning from KTN, the digital journalist joined CGTN Africa.
She had revealed her future move on social media, tweeting a selfie of herself at the Chinese-owned media business.
After hosting the weekend lunchtime broadcast, the news anchor resigned from KTN on January 11, 2021. After being snatched from K24, she worked for Standard Media Group for two years.
